Event Details

Premier Gordon Campbell has called for a provincial task force to overhaul the province’s archaic local elections act (see this Vancouver Sun story for more information).  This is a wonderful opportunity to ensure that Vancouver (and the other cities and towns across BC) gain the right to choose a voting system that better suits our needs than the grossly unfair at-large voting system we currently use.

Join us for a 2 hour working session at the FVBC's president's house to plan how we will respond to the Premier's task force and reach out to the public to build support for reform (tea and coffee will be served).  We will also spend some time discussing how we might take advantage of next week's anti-prorogation rallies to raise awareness of fair voting issues.

Note that if this event reaches capacity, we'll try to find another venue nearby;  if you see that tickets are 'Sold Out', please send an email to info@fairvotingbc.com to let us know you'd like to come and we'll get back to you if we find a bigger place to meet.
